English Gardens featured Golden Isles Magazine

Have you seen us in Golden Isles Magazine, page 58? English Gardens was asked to design flowers for a Nautical inspirational photo shoot on Jekyll. We used coastal colors to create a unique one of a kind bouquet and driftwood centerpiece, filled full of hydrangeas, callas, berries, delphiniums, ferns, oyster shells, and starfish!

Gotta Love the South

It’s January and my azaleas are blooming! This beautiful bloom sure makes me ready for spring, but we still have another month of winter. It will not be long until the earth warms, and buds start popping! I can almost smell the fresh grass growing.

Anemones are here!

Anemones are here! We planted a few of these beautiful plants this week and we just thought we would share their beauty!

The name Anemone comes from Greek and roughly means wind flower, which signifies that the wind that blows the petal open will also, eventually, blow the dead petals away. The flower stem bears one or several, white, red, blue, or yellow flowers.

Also nice to know: our friends over at Oelschigs nursery in Savannah say that these flowers are not really affected by the very cold temperatures that we sometimes have on the coast.

1st Friday

English Gardens at The Gallery on Newcastle as well as other downtown businesses will keep their doors opened tonight until 8 for 1st Friday!!

We have a large section of interior containers to plant. Bring a splash of color into your home with one of our planted arrangements. Sure to brighten these cold winter days!

Order tonight for next week delivery and receive 20% off!

1st Freeze

We had our first freeze of 2012. My summer impatiens and begonias finally turned to mush last night. If your summer flowers that were still hanging in there got zapped by the freeze, we can replace them with beautiful cool season flowers! We still have pansies, violas, anemones, and much more available to keep your gardens alive this winter.

Take a look at this traditional front entrance container. You really can’t go wrong with an ivy cone topiary under planted with lush alyssum, dusty miller, and Algerian ivy! This is one of my favorite combination. It will survive through the winter and it’s deer resistant!

All I want for Christmas is….a beautiful red orchid!

This Christmas arrangement is one of our most recent compositions.  The girls at English Gardens have been filling a few of our client’s homes with wonderful holiday cheer.  From mixed wreaths and garlands to exquisite orchids, you can never have enough Christmas in your home!  This particular orchid composition has green ivy as well as maiden hair fern which helps provide a variety of textures and colors to the arrangement.
